Donald Trump Sparks Internet Uproar with a Strange AI Video of Barack Obama

Donald Trump has once again stirred a wave of online debate with a peculiar AI-generated video shared on social media. This isn’t the first time the former president, along with the White House, has ventured into swapping visuals and movies created by artificial intelligence.

Among the ’embarrassing’ portrayals were Trump as Superman, a ‘childish’ Bruce Springsteen clip, a quirky May the Fourth image, and the unsettling ‘Gaza Dream’ movie. However, his latest creation takes it up a notch, featuring former President Barack Obama.

The video, shared on Trump’s own social media platform, Truth Social, shows Barack Obama being taken into custody. In the clip, the former president is seen speaking at a rally, stating “no one is above the law,” before being depicted being arrested and placed in a cell with an amused Trump observing.

What makes this AI video even more extraordinary is that it uses actual footage of a meeting between the two leaders at the White House in November 2016, when Trump was president-elect and Obama was preparing to leave office.

As if the sequence wasn’t dramatic enough, Obama is then shown in a federal prison donning an orange jumpsuit, being ushered away, all while The Village People’s ‘YMCA’—a tune closely associated with Trump—plays in the backdrop.

A Twitter user remarked upon seeing the clip, “Is this what we expect of a U.S. President, showcasing such videos of a former president?”

Another observer questioned the obsession, stating, “Why is he so taken with AI? This is really becoming a bit embarrassing.” Several others echoed these sentiments, expressing concerns over perceptions and the reactions of older voters who might even mistake the video for real.

Social Media Reacts to the Video
The stark video was bound to trigger a plethora of reactions online. “That’s quite a bold move from Donald,” one viewer commented, while another critiqued, “Is this the person you chose for the top office?” There were reminders of Trump’s own legal history: “Remember, Trump has a criminal record,” remarked an onlooker, a sentiment that another echoed by pointing out that Trump is the first president with a criminal record.

Despite the fervor, Trump appears unfazed, having yet to receive a response from Obama himself. The ongoing sharing of fictional prison scenarios involving members of Obama’s cabinet suggests that Trump’s internet escapades are far from over.

Even in the face of criticism, it seems this unusual blend of AI and real-life figures continues to be a platform for expression, much to the bewilderment and intrigue of audiences far and wide.
